Habit clitopiloid or clitocybeoid; Pileus hygrophanous, with depressed centre; lamellae broadly adnate, often with decurrent tooth. Spores isodiametrical. Cystidia absent. Trama composed of long, fusiform elements. Pileipellis a cutis of narrow hyphae. Clamp-connections absent.

This group has long be considered to be part of subgenus Entoloma. However, on account of general habit, the deviating trama structure of long elements, and the lack of clamps it is considered a subgenus of its own right now. Only one species in Europe.

Species: E. costatum (Fr.) Kumm.
